Description
Fort Worth Carrier Corporation is the dedicated carrier for a major national retailer. We are currently hiring qualified a LOCAL TRUCK DRIVER for local vendor pick ups and Conex pick ups from the rail yard based out of our Fort Worth, TX terminal. Doubles and Triples Endorsement is required on CDL. Some weekends will be required.

Qualifications
Job Requirements: Requires a valid Class A CDL License with Doubles/Triples Endorsement and background check. Must be able to pass DOT certification and drug/alcohol screen. Stable work history with satisfactory MVR, with no more than 3 moving violations in last 3 years. A minimum of 2 years of experience driving a tractor with doubles, both city and highway. Night driving vision is required. Reliable transportation and functional communications devices (IE telephone, mobile phone, etc.) are required of each driver. Applicants must meet minimum age requirements as governed by the DOT.
Job Role: Drivers provide professional service and represent Fort Worth Carrier Corporation in the best possible public image. Drivers move freight between terminals safely, efficiently, and effectively. Driver’s role includes transportation, safety, communication, training, other periodic duties and reporting incidents timely. Transporting freight requires drivers to be proficient in the operation of a tractor trailer and use many commercial vehicle combinations while being able to follow verbal and written instructions. All drivers are expected to check in daily with the dispatch office to determine load availability and runs, which are subject to change based on the rapidly changing demands of the organization.
Essential Functions:
Transportation
o Daily delivery of trailers to local retail stores
o Daily delivery of trailers to vendors for merchandise pick-ups
o Daily pick up of return trailers located at stores
o Daily pick up of Conex containers at the rail yard
o Hook up / Drop trailers at locations as dispatched, move and hook converter dollies
Safety
o Securing trailers with king pin boot lock, unlocking king pin boot and removing at required locations
o Conduct Safety Inspections of tractors, dollies, and trailers visually checking for functional lights, tire pressure checks, airline pressure checks, check trailer seals and locks with slight pull to ensure they are locked
Communication
o Communicate safety issues immediately to management
o Communicate damage and breakdowns to management including use of red tags
Training
o Maintains Electronic Logging Device and remains current on Hours of Service
o Completes Quarterly Safety Training Modules
Other Periodic Duties
o Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include fueling, checking or adding oil, water, air, and other fluids; reports maintenance deficiencies and unsafe conditions to the Shop Manager
